Proceedings of the Sixth Message Understanding Conference (MUC-6), 1995.
From the introduction
This document describes the LOLITA system and how it was extended to run the four MUC tasks, discusses the resulting system’s performance on the required “walk-through” article, and then considers the performance of this system on the final evaluation set. Because of the design of LOLITA, the code implementing the four MUC tasks is almost trivial, since it is built using complex facilities provided by a ‘core’ system.
The LOLITA (Large-scale, Object-based, Linguistic Interactor, Translator, and Analyser) system is designed as a general purpose Natural Language Processing (NLP) system and has been under development at the University of Durham since 1986. The system is designed to provide NLP capabilities to support many applications in multiple domains.
